Players race against each other or battle each other using customizable Avatars. This is an online side-scrolling game, and the action takes place within maps that are created by other players.  Different levels present various items that players can bump into and use to their advantage against other players during gameplay. This version goes at a much faster pace than its predecessor due to the fact that the maximum attainable speed has been massively increased. However, this also means that players will need greater skills than they had before if they wish to master the game and come out on top.

Improvements

Players will find that it’s not just the speed of the game that makes Platform Racing 2 more enticing than the original game; many other improvements have been made. Players now have the option of creating an account, which means that they can save their game when they need to take a break and then pick up where they left off when they sign in again.

Ranking

The ranking system has also improved leaps and bounds, and players can now gain and accumulate points based on their placing at the end of each game. As they accumulate points, their rank will get higher and they can then earn points that they can use to accelerate their speed and jump higher. They can also see how other players are ranked.

Map Making

The best new feature in Platform racing 2 is the fact that players can create maps. This feature is called the level editor. Players can use the available blocks to create the base of their maps, and then they have the option of choosing from a variety of backgrounds, or they can use one of the art layers to draw their own background. Players can add text to their map, choose a song for each level, and decide on time limit and rank. Map making takes this game to a whole new level!

Pre Release https://pr2game.com/pre-release/ Mon, 23 Jul 2018 11:02:58 +0000 https://pr2game.com/?page_id=13 Platform Racing 2 was created and developed by Jacob Grahn and was first released on 2nd of June 2008. The game is multiplayer online video game and is very popular among gamers due to its unique and trendy features. The game received a total of 32 million plays on Kongregate alone.

The game also went on to set a record of having two thousand players playing online simultaneously. Platform Racing 2 has also received multiple awards and a number of nominations for its creativity. It also received a great reception from gamers (as did the renowned sequel which was released two years later).

Pre-release History

The release of Platform Racing 2 was first announced 2 months prior to release by Jiggmin in a Kongregate forum. The post announced that the game would be released on 1st of January 2008. However, the date passed and the game was not released until the 15th of January 2008

The game preview was posted on the Jiggmin website later in February. The account used by users was in danger of impersonation and that’s why all accounts were shared with Volly-Bounce. The link continued until the beginning of 2012. The game, as is with all games, received updates while running on beta.

Platform Racing 3 pre-release

There was a lot of speculation prior to the release. The official confirmation was communicated by Jiggmin on 27th of October 2008, through their website. The communication also gave hints of what fans could expect from the game including new features and new settings. It was to be released at the end of 2009.

Specifics, however, were avoided and fans were kept guessing on what would be in or out of the new Platform Racing 3 game. However, this all changed on the 22nd of March 2010 when they released screenshots of the game to fans who gave positive feedback. The game was released 2nd of June 2010.

Platform Racing 2 https://pr2game.com/ Mon, 23 Jul 2018 11:00:45 +0000 https://pr2game.com/?page_id=7 Platform racing is a Jiggmin game whose downfall is attributed to continuity miscalculations. It all started when Jiggmin sold Platform Racing 3 to sparksworkz.com, which then changed the game to signify a change of ownership. The move led to a decline in popularity of Platform Racing 2. To revive the game, Jiggmin made weekly updates but the effort was short lived because sparksworkz.com decided to shut down their entire website as well as the Platform Racing 3 beta version. Therefore, Platform Racing 3 was never officially launched because it never passed the beta stage, meaning that the Platform Racing franchise would not continue.

Jiggmin’s Disappearance

After sparkworkz.com and Platform Racing 3 were shut down, Jiggmin went silent, leaving Platform Racing 2 fans in limbo. Jiggmin just stopped making the weekly updates (referred to as Motley Mondays) without any explanation. After a few months, Jiggmin uploaded a final YouTube video, but the video did not explain why Platform Racing 2 was abandoned. The video consisted of short footage that showcased another game by Jiggmin that was totally unrelated to Platform Racing 2. Jiggmin later shut down the main games’ website Jiggmin.com and removed Platform Racing 2 without giving any reasons for the decision. Players interpreted this as the end of Platform Racing.

The End of Platform Racing 2

With Jiggmin’s silence and the shutting down of Platform Racing 3, fans believed that the game had come to an end. Lack of regular updates for the game demotivated players who, after a while, ditched the game for good. Over 400 players registered on different servers like Derron for Platform Racing 2, but over time, the numbers started to drop significantly. In fact, the numbers dropped so rapidly that it is now believed to have fewer than 20 players registered. Loyal Platform Racing 2 fans took to the internet to express their considerable disappointment at the game being abandoned.
